Training & Development Corporation is a national, not-for-profit, think tank, design shop, and management company headquartered in Bucksport, Maine. Our work is guided by these core principles:

TDC designs innovative solutions to the problems individuals, families, and communities face as they pursue economic well-being. We construct and operate our designs, we interpret them into new contexts through a careful process of participatory design adaptation, and we turn designs over to others to implement and improve. We have done so for twenty-nine years.
Our designs are tested in action every day in urban and rural settings, among people of a wide range of ages and performance capabilities, in residential and non-residential environments, here and abroad.
In our work as architects, builders, and operators of education and training institutions, programs, and services, as well as in our consulting and policy formulation, we are committed to personal development and teamwork as a means for improving access and performance of people and institutions in the economy. We are guided by a commitment to high performance and a principled and caring approach to our work.
Because we understand that the problems our customers face are complex and that opportunity costs associated with the pursuit of education and training are significant to the individual, the employer, and society, we have sought to discover frameworks, practices, and technologies that accelerate and intensify learning and facilitate adaptation while enabling workers to progress with greater independence in the labor market and advance in careers.
We believe that people are inclined to express their individuality through the manner and nature of their work, and that they are motivated by achievement and recognition even as they seek to meet a more fundamental need to survive. We conceive of our work as an endeavor to create conditions, that empower individuals to discover and develop competence, pursue worthy accomplishments, and experience success.
